Solid Ground 2009

REGINA GUIDICI, VOLUNTEER 2009

Regina is soft spoken and gentle in nature. She has a degree and has spent many years travelling the world. Regina is the calm in the storm when camping is upon us. She enjoys series like ‘Friends’, listening to Christian artists and spending time with friends and family. Regina is a very fast learner and has much enthusiasm. She is planning to join Dani in February as she travels to Korea to teach English.

DANI MARAIS, VOLUNTEER 2009

Dani Marais is a young 28 year old with a degree in English. There is never a dull moment when you are around her. She is fun and very energetic with much confidence. She has travelled the globe extensively and has picked up a lot of cooking tips and observed many language and cultural varieties from her travels. She is currently waiting for her Visa to be approved and in February she will leave us to travel to Korea, where she will teach children English. Dani loves to get her hands dirty and has enjoyed the programming and hosting.

JEAN VAN DER WALT, VOLUNTEER 2009

Jean is a South African 20 year old with a great sense of humour and is very musically talented. He has a great testimony that inspires all those who hear it. Jean is young, energetic and quick to learn. He has travelled to Australia and New Zealand. Currently he is studying business management part time and we will continue to support him every step of the way. While he was here he inspired campers to live a life with and for Christ.

JOHANKE VAN ZYL, VOLUNTEER 2009

Johanke is a South African Kleinmond girl with a lot of enthusiasm and zest for life. She enjoyed getting her hands dirty and had a habit of finding the wildlife at Rocklands. She had a lot of fun programming and loved doing the night hikes we provide here. She was an encouragement to the campers. We pray that God will continue to reveal His amazing plan for her life.

MARISKA JANSE VAN RENSBURG, VOLUNTEER 2009

Mariska is a born and bred South African. She joined the Rocklands team from Sasolburg in the Free State. She is a joy to be around with her laughter, bright smile and energy. She enjoyed crafts and working with the campers. She has a younger brother and lots of pets. Mariska unfortunately left us very suddenly due to a family emergency. We trust and pray that God will continue to draw close to her and give her strength through all her trials and tribulations.

GRANT EASOM, VOLUNTEER 2009

Grant arrived in January and spent 6 months with us. His maintenance skills from his previous job in George were greatly appreciated. He enjoyed watching football and cricket and was disappointed to find a staff house full of non-sporty types! He was always available for a chat and inspired lively discussion in the staff house. We wish Grant all the best as he gets married and begins the new adventure God has in store for him.
